Christina Gebel is a Lamaze-certified childbirth educator (LCCE), DONA-trained and practicing birth doula since 2011, and holds a Master in Public Health (MPH) in Maternal and Child Health as well as a Bachelor in Theology. A lifelong Catholic, Christina created the Before Bethlehem program to combine the practical need for childbirth education with faith formation for expectant Catholic parents. Christina is also a writer who speaks to the intersection of pregnancy and the Catholic faith. Christina and her husband, Raman, moved to the Triangle in June of 2020 for Raman to work as a family physician at Duke, and Christina continues to work on childbirth education, birth doula services, and maternal and child health research.
