Friar Tim's Presentations

In preparation for Pope Francis’ Synod on Synodality in Rome this October, Friar Tim will be issuing a four-part video series. After first reviewing the concept of synodality and how to understand it, Friar Tim will explore how synodality shaped the Ancient, Medieval, and Early Modern Catholic Church before falling out of common usage and then being resurrected by the Catholic Church in the United States in the 19th Century. The series is in preparation for another Newman Synodal Discussion Day on Saturday, October 28. 

In 2022, Friar Tim led a guided discussion on the vocation and mission of the lay faithful in the Church and in the world based on Vatican II’s Lumen Gentium. Readings are shown below.
