Catholic Carolina Night (CCN) happens every Wednesday at 6:15 pm in the Newman Activity Center (214 Pittsboro Street). Each week features a dynamic keynote speaker, an interactive game, a live worship band, and a delicious and FREE homemade meal. Come out to meet some new students, worship together, and eat something other than dining hall food!

SFGs meet weekly throughout campus at various times and locations. Joining an SFG is a great opportunity to meet other students in a smaller setting to grow in fellowship and faith. Each week students gather to reflect on and discuss the upcoming Sunday Gospel reading from the Bible. This is a great way to make new friends and strengthen your faith together.
UNC students have the very fulfilling opportunity to teach catechesis to the children and youth of Newman’s permanent community members. This includes leading retreats, discipleship, small faith groups, service opportunities, and more with children in grades K-12. To learn more, contact us at Catechesis.
Newman offers a number of local service options in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, alternative break trips all over the United States, and other opportunities to serve your community here and abroad throughout the year.
Newman offers many exciting retreats to UNC students throughout the year to grow in faith and community. Carolina Awakening 14 (our annual retreat) was on October 14-17, 2022. We also plan to travel to SPO's ASCEND conference and the College Summit Conference in the spring.
